Mothers Day 2010

On Saturday, Casey took me and the kids to Olive Garden to celebrate Mothers Day. It was fun to have my kids with me, because everywhere we went I was greeted with a "Happy Mothers Day". After lunch we went to the mall so I could pick me out a new shirt, but ended up shopping for my kids instead. They're alot more fun to shop for, but I did end up finding me new shirt too. On Sunday I didn't get to see my own mommy since she was on a cruise in Alaska (I know- how dare she!) So we got to spend most the day with Casey's mom. She is such an awesome Mother-in-law and grandma. We had a BBQ at their house and just relaxed while the kids played. Overall it was just a nice relaxing weekend.

Casey's Big 30!!!!!

There's a fire....call the fire department! oh wait, it's just Casey's 30 birthday candles. I must confess that I have not done anything for Casey's birthday since we were dating. I'm talking no gift, no card, no cake, or party. We usually just go to dinner and call it good. This year I decided to at least get him a gift since it was his thirtieth. So my Mom rode up with me to get him an Ipod touch and on the way home we were talking about him turning 30 and she offered to throw him a party. I was a little embarrassed that this idea had not even crossed my mind, so I told her she didn't need to do it I would. When I told Casey my idea he immediately chose his menu which was his favorite chicken noodles and homemade rolls. I wanted to surprise him as much as I could so I ordered him a Coldstones cookies 'n cream cake that was layered with devils food cake and cookie ice cream. I also bought just a regular cake to make sure that I had enough. I went to the dollar store and got the trick candles which were impossible to blow-out and with 30 of them together made it a little scary at times. I can read it now "man's 30 birthday candles burn down home". Everything turned out great and he had a good time. He loved the Ipod and cake I surprised him with. I can't imagine life with out him and I wish him many more birthdays to come! Love ya babe!

Fashionista.....

For over two years now I've been raising both a boy and a girl and I've been surprised at how similar they are. Both love to get dirty, play in the tub, be outside, go for walks, ride bikes, read books, cuddle on the couch to watch a movie, and throw fits, but lately I noticed one difference....their clothes. I love dressing them both and even though some would disagree, Boys are just as much fun to shop for. The only problem for me is getting Cael to dress trendy. He has been fussy about his clothes ever since he could talk and I have bought a lot of cute things that he has refused to wear. He prefers to just wear a t-shirt, jeans, and sketchers which I have accepted and have done my best in making the little stud rat look his best. Kensie on the other hand LOVES CLOTHES. I'm talking about obsessed! I'm talking about her first sentence being "ang my dos?" (change my clothes?) A couple of weeks ago my mom took the kids to the dollar store so they could pick out a toy. They both decided on one and they were heading for the check-out when Kensie saw the "dos" (clothes). She dropped her toy and ran for the rack full of new summer outfits. How many 2 year-olds drop a toy for a pair of shorts? Then the other night while we were watching TV an old navy commercial came on and I immediately pushed the fast forward button on the DVR so I could get back to the show. Well she flipped out and started screaming "watch dos!" I had to rewind it three times before she would let me get back to my show. This obsession has not help with keeping her room cleaned since she loves to pull out all the clothes in her dresser and scatter them all over the floor so she can try them all on. I even caught her moving some of her clothes into my closet.

Casey is hoping this new obsession will soon end, but I don't mind having someone that will shop online and watch "What not to Wear"with. Speaking of shopping we did take her into the mall with us and I wish I would of got a picture of her with her purse on her arm looking through the clothes on the rack. She looked like a little teenager browsing the sales.......I think we're going to be in trouble with this one.

Cael's t-ball

Cael has officially started his professional career in little league T-ball. He now plays Tuesdays and Thursday for the White Sox and is improving every game. At first he threw one of his "new environment fits" when asked to put on a helmet, but after that he has loved to go. It's still a little slow pace for him and he keeps asking when wrestling will start again, but I think he is liking it. Watching the kids learn a new sport is pure comedy. Anytime a ball is hit every kid on the field will run for it and then tackle each other while trying to get to it first. During one game a kid on the opposite team hit the ball, ran for it, picked it up and then threw it home while his dad yelled "run to first!" Cael already has a good arm and can throw it home. He is also a good hitter, but would rather catch. I think the reason he doesn't like to hit is because all attention is on him (just like his dad). I'm trying to accept the fact that he can be shy, but it makes life extremly difficult when he refuses to do things. So far it's been really fun and entertaining. Go White Sox!!!!!

PBR BABY!!!!!

WE LOVE The PBR!!! I know there are a lot of people that don't know what it is, so I will explain . The PBR is not a rodeo, it's an actual sport where 40 of the best bull riders in the world compete against each other for large amounts of money. They hold events all over the US which usually consist of 2-3 days on the weekends, they usually have close to 30 events a year with the finals being in November when they crown the World Champion who wins $1,000,000. The minimum I've seen the Event winner earn in $25,000 up to $250,000 in one weekend. These events are pretty much every weekend and you can watch it on the VS channel. Yes, we do pay for the extra channels so we can have VS! My parents have watched it for year and I really didn't get into it until I went to my first event in SLC. After being there and meeting the riders I was hooked. Unfortunately that was the last year they held one in Utah, so now we have to go to Nampa, Idaho which it just outside of Boise. We went to Nampa two years ago with Eric and Jen and had an absolute Ball! Boise is such a fun place! They have amazing shopping, great food, and the nicest hotels for cheap. We didn't go last year so we were even more excited to make it this year! We left on Thurs Morning drove to Ogden where we started off our diet Free vacation at Olive Garden. Then drove straight to Boise. The weather was pretty good, but we did have to drive through a dust storm which Eric did awesome at. We stopped by the outlets, very dangerous, and then checked into our rooms at the Hyatt which were very nice and clean.

Friday morning after breakfast we headed straight to the mall. This mall is huge and easy to get lost in. I literally didn't have anything to wear to the event, so we spent most the day shopping and luckily I found some cute stuff to wear. We ate at Texas Roadhouse before heading to the event. We got there early and was able to get some autographs from Shawn Willingham and Adriano Morias. We also got a shirt and picture from Chad Berger, who has been stock contractor of the year for the past three years. This guy supplies around 50% of the bulls for the events and they interview him all the time on TV. We had really good seats this year thanks to an awesome ticket sales lady who later told me she has a sister-in-law named Trisha Smith who lives in Salt Lake. I love to people watch when I go to these things and oh were there things to chuckle about! There were some girls dressed in what looked like their underwear standing at the main door advertising for a bar in Nampa. They had the big scanky heels, spanks, and tiny tank tops on, so everything was pretty much hanging out. After the event had started they started to walk around handing out their flyer when this old old man in front of us stopped them so his wife could take his picture with them. He had the stupidest grin on his face....dirty old man! Casey also saw an old guy taking pictures of all the girls butts who were walking in front of him. Then the guys saw two lesbians making out, whom I noticed in the crowd because of their cute hair! I thought they were all dressed up cute so they could get the attention from the Cowboys not the Cowgirls.... and then there were your usually once a year Cowboys who are easy to pick out in a crowd. Lots of skin, lots of tattoos, they made Idaho proud!



Guilherme

Ryan McConnell Dakota

I love all the riders, but my very favorite is Guilherme Marchi, he is a Brazillian and won the World Championship in 2008. He is such a nice guy and always makes an effort to talk to the fans. He's not forgotten where his paycheck comes from, if it wasn't for the fans they wouldn't have a job. Guilherme signed our hats for the kids and even posed for a picture. Casey laughs when I say this but "he is a hottie!" We also got our pics with Ryan McConnell and Renoto Nunez. The little cowboy is Dakota, who rode a miniature bull and scored a 90. He was from Utah so we had to get a picture and he was excited we asked. It's hard realize that he was born the year I graduated!

We even got in a little religion too. I can now say I've been through the Boise Temple.

The trip was amazing and very much needed after being tied-down to our bathroom remodel for the past month. Thanks Eric and Jen for such a good time!

easter 2010

Easter Morning

This was the first year the Easter bunny visited our house. We have always went camping at the Sand Dunes/cherry creek, but because the weather wasn't looking too hot and me and Casey were going on Vacation the next weekend we decided to stay home and just go out and visit. This also gave us a much needed weekend to get caught up from our remodeling project (pics to come). Cael was kind of sad we didn't go the whole weekend but we still did some fun things to celebrate Easter. The Easter Bunny left both of them clothes, sunglasses, balls, silly putty, playdoh, coloring books, crayons, candy, & discovery toys. Cael also got Star wars Legos and Kensie got a new baby with a car seat. They loved all their new stuff!

After the kids played with their new toys we hurried and got ready to go spend the morning with Grandpa and Grandma Smith. We had eggs to roll and treasures to hunt! The weather was perfect when we finally got out there and even stood around the fire while the kids played in the sand with their new buckets. Grandpa and Grandma gave them their Easter baskets full of clothes, toys, and candy. Every year the dads take the kids for a ride so the moms can hide candy. The kids ended up with two bags full! Elaine made some cute bunny hats out of paper for everyone to wear.

This year Easter landed on my Dad's Birthday, so after the egg roll we headed back to have Easter/b-day dinner at the farm. I wore my bunny ears to the party and Gavyn was so excited when I gave them to him. (The kid is going to end-up on the big screen someday he loves dressing up!) We had a yummy dinner and the kids got some fun things from Grandpa and Grandma.

The day finally came that Cael had been waiting for ever since I bought the egg dye kits last month. I found some no-spill cups, which I messed with for over 15 minutes trying to figure out how to attach the lids. I was just about ready to chuck um when I finally broke down and read the instructions. Once I finally got them assemble they actually worked pretty good. The kids still stained their hands, but no spills which was worth the stress of the dang things!

Notice the shells around her...she couldn't wait to eat um! I quickly gathered the rest up before she didn't have any to roll.
