Memorial Day 2012....

We always make an effort to attend the annual Veteran Memorial put on by the American Legion.  My dad is the Chaplain so he gets to read the names of the Veterans who are buried in each cemetery.  There were close to 400 names in Vine Bluff alone this year which included my Grandpa Earl for the first time.  I got a tear in my eye when I heard his name read and it made me realize how much I missed him.  Casey's Grandpa Read Smith is also buried at Vine Bluff so his name was read too.  There is always the best feeling during the ceremony and it makes me so proud of my families service and most of all Proud to be American!

The ClubHouse...

The last couple of years we have wanted to get a play set for the kids.  First off, I'm married to the handiest guy this side of Bob Vila, so after we priced the prefab ones he got an idea to build one himself.  We threw some numbers around and figured we could probably build one for cheaper and end up with one that would last longer out in the weather.  Last year we purchased the lumber and got a good start on it so this year our goal is to finish it.

The kids were having fun at the Home Depot.  I wish me & Casey could have had fun, but we were looking at price tags instead...ouch!  We both have a problem with expensive taste, but the real problem was wanting to buy supplies that would be low maintenance and last a long time.  Our budget was shot, but hopefully it will pay off.

This is our General Contractor Braxten...He kept us in line.  I love this kid!

You ask Casey to build a sandbox and this is what you get.  The outside is coming together.  We still have to put the handrail and slide on the porch, get it wired, sofit and fascia, and finish the inside.  I'm loving the look and the kids have already spent a hundred hours playing on it.

He graduated from Juab High School in 1995. He graduated from UVU and worked as a plumber. He enjoyed hunting with his family, riding horses, and tormenting his nieces and nephews. Interment will be in the Nephi Vine Bluff Cemetery .

Today we attended the funeral of Casey's cousin JC.  He unexpectedly passed away and my heart breaks for his family.  We haven't seen him much lately, but when we were in High School I saw him all the time.  He always came into Fros-T-Freez and would give us a bad time while we were working and then we would usually run into him on the weekend while draggin main.  He didn't have much to say, but never missed an opportunity to tease someone.  When he found out that I was dating Casey he went out of his way to tease me and on several occasions had me on the verge of tears.  He loved to get me worked up and then would just laugh and go about his business.  I know that was just his way of being friendly and we had some good laughs about it.

At his funeral service all the speakers did a great tribute to him and I was able to learn some new things about his life. After the service they lead his horse up to his final resting place. It was a very emotional day for his family and I hope they will be comforted during the difficult times ahead.

He was buried next to his dad that passed away 7 years ago.

Last Day of School 2012...

Cael has had a great school year, but is excited for Summer to start!  The biggest milestone this year was him finally giving shorts a chance and wore them to school several times.  This was huge....Trust me!

Graduation 2012....

They had a great Graduation ceremony.  Kalee has a really cute class and they all seem to get along so well.  All the speakers were funny and kept it entertaining.  They are the biggest class yet with 170 students receiving a diploma.

She did it!!! We are so proud of her!
