6 Months Old

I forgot to post that last week my baby had her half birthday. She is now 6 months old and I don't know where time goes.

She is such a happy baby and has been a breeze.

Here are her stats:

weight 16 lbs 9 oz

Sits up

rolls from stomach to back

holds her own bottle

giggles

smiles at anyone who will talk to her

pulls hair

eating baby food

sleeps through the night

plays with her toys (mostly Caels)

loves to feel grass/trees

talks with a serious face

gives hugs/kisses

loves to look at herself in the mirror

Memorial Weekend 2008

Here are just a few of our family members we remembered this year. Some we knew, some we didn't, but I always enjoy going to the cemetery and thinking about them. These pictures I'm using in my heritage book that I'm hoping to complete in the near future. The first two are Casey's grandpa Worwood & Smith then my grandma Jarrett and then my uncle Mark Jarrett who died 34 years ago yesterday. Doing family history has made me more aware that I need to learn from the past to better the future. I am so grateful for the people before me and all we can learn from their lives.

For the past couple years we've not went anywhere for the long weekend. Mostly because the weather will never cooperate. We've found that it's a good weekend to get the house ready for the summer. Every year we try to have a project we want to get done. There is always a long list and we never get it all done, but we usually spend the whole weekend busy and this year was no exception. Our main project was to get the bark in our flower beds. We underestimated this as usual, but we took our time and made sure that it was the way we wanted it. We ran up north Saturday morning to get our first load, by our calculations we thought we would need around 6 truck loads. It's a good thing we went and picked it up instead of had it delivered because our first load did more than half of what we needed. On our way home from getting it we had some problems with Gary's truck and ended up having to be towed back to Gary & Linda's house. That made Cael's day by getting to ride in Bert's big tow truck. We thought once we got home we could start unloading the bark, until we realized that the bark was in back of the broken truck. So Casey started to unload it onto a trailer and then hauled it up to our house. This added a lot of extra time and left us with no time to run back up for another load. From the way it looks we should only need one more load about 1/3 of what we had planned on! {hopefully our kids don't get our math skills}.

With the weekend having on and off storms Cael was having major energy issues and luckily my mom invited him down for a sleep over on Sunday. He was sick of being in the house, but with Gavyn at grandma's this helped him burn some of his energy he had bottled up. We went and got him this morning and had breakfast with my family before they headed up to the cemetery for the veteran ceremony my dad was in. It was such a good weekend and I wish it wasn't over but back to work tomorrow and we can look forward to next weekend.

what time is it?

This is what we look like after a night of the stomach flu! after 3 weeks of my kids being sick with colds, we finally got hit with the flu bug. Yuck! Last night after Cael got home from the farm he started to throw-up, then about an hour later it got me and around 10 pm it hit Casey. The baby had not been eating very well over the weekend and had been up all night the night before, so hopefully she is over it. She slept all night while the rest of the family was up! I'm so thankful she slept because we were all to sick to take care of her! It's times like this that makes me grateful for my health. Day in and day out it rarely will cross my mind about how lucky I am that i feel great and are able to take care of my family. What a blessing!

It has been so nice and hot outside that we have not spent much time in the house. That is probably why we didn't notice that our A/C was not working. Casey said he would have paid a $1,000 dollars last night to get it working! Being sick and hot are not a good combination. I'm not going to complain about the weather because my kids our loving it especially Cael who has had a major bout of Cabin Fever!

mothers day

Mothers day is starting to become one of my favorite holidays. I love it because It's not to hot to BBQ! So that's what we did, and what a good time we had. Casey bought me (us?) a BBQ for mothers day/fathers day this year. Our other one had been a hand-me-down from Gary and Linda and had reached it's 1 million burger mark so during a spring cleaning it ended up at the Dump! The new grill did such a good job and the food was great. We had turkey along with dutch oven potatoes and salads. It's so nice to know that both sides of the family can mingle and have such a good time together.

We have such good examples of a good mother. Both my moms have taught me so much. I love them to pieces and am grateful for all they do for our family. They are never selfish and are always looking for ways to help. I love you guys and so do your grandkids because of your love!

Kensie wasn't loving the party she has an ear infection. poor baby!

Grandma Vicki even got on the Tramp with Cael. Cael said he loves having parties, so i guess we will have to have more!

i'm going to love blogging!

I'm currently working on a 5 generation heritage book for my kids. in the book I've tried to get as much info about their ancestor's that i possibly can. i am struggling to find histories on many of the ancestors. as a descendant i am frustrated by the fact that i will never know certain things about the people before me. i guess i have never thought about the people after me and if they would care about my hobbies, trials, likes, and dislikes, but as a descendant that is what i love learning most about, {the things the pictures can't tell you}! So as my new years res i am going to try and write down as much as i can about our family. i also recently was introduced to digital and photoshop. I AM OBSESSED! this blogging is going to be a fun way for me to keep record of my family and play with photos! That being said here is what's been going on in our family.

Casey just turned 28 on April 29. He owns a electrical business with his brother Chris. They have been keeping busy which has been a blessing considering the economy. He loves to cook and has been on a Chinese kick lately. He loves working in the yard. All he wanted for his birthday was bushes for our front yard. we will hopefully be getting the bark soon. My mom said she thinks he has a scotts fertilizer addiction. We love to watch PBR together and recently went to watch them in Nampa, ID. We went with our friends Eric and Jen and had a great time. I will post pictures as soon as i get some from Jen. (i forgot my camera battery on the charger at home)

Cael is three years old. yeah i said it 3! I'm finding that 3 is a lot harder than 2. I'm hoping that soon he will be the sweet 2 year old that he use to be.j/k He can be so sweet and helpful one minute and the next be throwing a fit and sitting in time-out! he is coming to understand the rules of the house and I'm finding that if you give him an inch he will take 3 miles! Parenting is a full time job and if at any minute I give in, he knows it and takes full advantage. He has been such a good big brother and i think he has finally realized that he's not going to have all the attention all the time. His favorite sentence right now is "that would be terrible". He lOVES any kind of equipment. he knows all their names and what they do. he has a good memory and will talk about things that happened months ago especially when it comes to trucks and tractors. the farm is one of his favorite places to go and loves spending time with the guys.

Kensie has been such a little sweetheart. She is so easy going and rarely makes a fuss. We recently went 4-wheeling at San Rafael and she rode the whole time. On our second ride she spent a whole 9 hours in my coat on the bike and only fussed about the last 10 min of the ride. She has been such a blessing to our family and we enjoy her every minute. She can now hold her bottle, sit up(for a minute), giggles, jabbers and has to reach for everything. She has discovered eating and is constantly grabbing your plate.

Well I'm now going to go clean my bathrooms (what casey thinks i'm doing right now).
