New Years Party 2012...

Wow where did 2012 go?  I can't believe another year is in the books.  We love having our New Years Eve party and look forward to it all year.  The Slater's and Cowan's also joined us this year so we had a full house which was great!  We served Homemade Chicken Cordon Bleu and then Jakoye got her minute to win it games out.  They were so fun and we all got a good laugh.

Tyler had to shake all the balls out of the Kleenex box.
Eric had to knock cans off of a table only using a yo-yo tied to his belt.  By far the funniest!  He got so dizzy he couldn't stay standing.

Christmas 2012....

This year we decided to wrap their doors up.  Cael got up and needed to go to the bathroom so he was yelling for us to help him out.  Kensie just snuck through a hole in the side and didn't even seem to notice.  They had bigger things on their mind by that point.  They came right in and started to go through their stockings before opening the gifts from Santa.

Kensie really never said what she wanted from Santa, but he knew she loved to sing so he left her a Karaoke machine with princess Cd's to go with it.

Cael asked for a bow and was excited to see that Santa granted his wish.  It's sad to think he's growing up and is wanting big boy toys.  He also got a football and a release for his bow.

On our anniversary trip we ate at the Anasazi grill where you cook your steak on these rocks.  When we got home Tenille looked online and was able to order a couple for us to give the guys.  Casey loved it!  I also got him a roulette game,
Blu Ray player, and a dress coat for church.

He gave me a new laptop!!  Yay I was glad he had got all the million hints I had dropped ;)
Even though it was snowing like crazy Cael couldn't resist shooting his bow.  He only lasted a few minutes and managed to break fletching's off two arrows.  Then a few minutes later he dry fired it (even though his dad had told him about a dozen times not to do so) and pulled the string off.  Ugh, Luckily Casey was able to restring it.  Lesson Learned....I hope!

Yes Grandma Vicki was very surprised!

As you can see we had a great Christmas and now we are looking forward to our Disney trip in a couple of weeks.  We had told the kids that our trip was going to be part of their Christmas and they were going to get more "needs" than toys this year.  They were totally fine with that and was excited about our trip.  Well After we had opened our presents that morning Cael was pouting because he didn't have any toys to play with.  I refuse to buy anymore toys to go in the basement and not get played with.  Anyway I know he was tired, but I had to get after him (yes there was lots of yelling) and make him go in his room and think about how lucky he is.  It was hard because he really couldn't play with his bow or football because of the weather, but I will not let him be ungrateful for what he does have.  After our meltdown he apologized and we went on to have a great day.
