BYU Basketball

I was just getting ready to go home from work when Sandra called and said she had tickets to the BYU vs USU game that night.  I couldn't pass up the good seats and I knew Cael would be excited.  We took the Ute loving Blackett boys with us which made it a fun rivalry game with them cheering on USU and us cheering on BYU.  The best part was BYU pulling out a win in the last few seconds of the game.

These two are best friends even though they cheer for different teams.

During half time they honored all the BYU athletes who had received awards from the NCAA.  Kyle Van Noy received the 2012 College Football Performance Award (CFPA) trophy for overall best defensive player of the year.  We love Van Noy and it was fun to see him receive this award.

The day of Love 2013...

Valentines day morning we were doorbell ditched by our Valentine aka the Hottest red head on the block.  I of coarse was a slacker and was thankful Casey made sure we all had something that morning. 

Yes he even made the card that included coupons ((wink wink)).

We managed to throw Kensie's Valentine's box together the night before and i thought it turned out pretty dang cute!

Unfortunately Meghan was admitted to the Hospital with Pneumonia so Casey was home for the day.  I was so glad he was able to help me with Cael's class party.  We made heart sun catchers out of tissue paper and contact paper while watching Charlie Brown and eating sugar cookies.  After school we headed up to get groceries so Casey treated us to Kneaders (my new favorite place) before heading home.  It was a great day to spend with the one's I love most!

Cali Trip 2013 Day 5 - Hittin what we missed

We woke up to our last day in the happiest place and I was amazed at how fast the week had gone.  I was a little worried that 5 days would be too much, but it turned out we still had plenty to do.  One of Kensie's favorite things to do is visiting the Character and over the past year the Tinkerbell movies have became some of her favorites.  Pixie Hollow is always busy so we headed there first.  The guys headed over to Star Tours while we waited.  Kensie really wanted to meet Silvermist, but by the time we got there she had been replaced by Fawn.  They were so cute and even guessed her name (with help from her name being in her autograph book) and she left there with the biggest grin.

After spending some time in Toon Town and with the characters we tried to get on some rides but the park had been taken over by a sea of people and I'm not kidding when I say a sea of people.  The streets were flooded with so many people that you couldn't see the pavement.  Nikki had overheard a worker say they were close to reaching maximum capacity.  All the rides were over an hour wait so we headed back to downtown Disney to do some shopping and most importantly get a fountain Dr. Pepper from Tortilla's Joes.  After a while we headed to California Adventure to shop and hit Animator studio for a lesson on drawing Pluto.  While in Animator's studio we went down to the Sorcerer's workshop and visited Beast library to complete the quiz to find out what character we are most like.  I was Mulan, Casey -Sulley, Cael -Mufasia, and Kensie was Lilo.   

After a long day and way too many people we finally retired for the night and had some dinner at Tony Roma's.  The kids literally fell asleep at dinner.  I was sad to see our trip coming to an end but we sure lived it up while being here!  Good Bye Cali!

Cali Trip 2013 Day 4- Back to California Adventure

After a cold wet day we were relieved to see some sun this morning.  We started out at the wharf for a yummy breakfast bowl and croissant before starting our day.  There were still some rides in California Adventure that we had not hit yet including Bug's Land and Tower of Terror.  I also wanted to see the Aladdin show since we have never been able to fit it in before.  We also reserved passes for World of Color that night.  Most of today Cael was pin hunting and scored some good trades along with buying some fun ones.  The kid is completely hook and seems more interested in finding someone to trade with than riding rides.

We were so sad Grizzly Rapids was closed.  This is one of our Favorites but the boys said it was OK since Grandpa Reid wasn't here to act like he was going to throw-up over the side.  I guess Grandpa is why they loved it so much last time.

"Tough to be a bug" movie is always a favorite

As the day went on the park got really crowded and we were all thankful we had hit most of the rides during the week.  The Aladdin show was amazing and we will definitely be making that a must see next time we are here.  We headed back to the room early to see if we could get the kids to take a quick nap before World of Color.  They did end up falling asleep and we debated on going back over for the show.  Casey was dead set on going to everything so we loaded sleeping Kensie up in the stroller and headed back over.  The show was just getting ready to start and we were worried we wouldn't get a good spot, but with our reserved tickets and being there a little late we actually got to pick our spot since everyone was already there.  I had forgot how neat this was and Linda loved seeing it for the first time.  On the way back to the room we checked some wait time but the park was still crowded so we headed back to get some shut eye.
