Nephi City Easter Egg Hunt

This was our first time doing the City Egg Hunt. Of coarse I forgot their

Easter baskets, I mean who needs baskets at an Easter Egg hunt? I think I'm losing it. Luckily I had some grocery sacks in the back of my car. Besides that little problem the kids loved it and found tons of candy. Thank You Nephi City Chamber of Commerce for making this happen!

I try not to compare my life to others, but I do find myself wishing parts of my life were different. I wish I looked like her, had her organized and spotless house, her money, her schedule, her abs, and the list goes on and on. The truth is I don't need to wish my life was any different because these two kids and one Fabulous husband are in it!

Nothing else should matter, I'm so Lucky!

update on the chillins....

This is his new invention..some thread and a hanger. I called it a boomerang (sp?), he said no it's not a boomerang it's a frowing thing. Ok, my bad.

I found this on my steps and I was so proud of him! He is getting so smart and loves to learn at school.

This is his first tithing envelope. He spent days helping Casey get a bunch of wire stripped so the copper could be taken to the recycle place. With that and a couple of chores he had earned close to $30. He wasn't to sold on the giving 10% thing, but after I explained to him about all the things Heavenly Father gives us he finally consented and even threw in a tip!

Dr Seuss Day at preschool. This was how wild we went, a black stripe in the hair and his shirt on backwards. For those of you who know Cael this was a big step for him!

He also has learned how to tie his shoes and loves to show off his new found talent.

We went to the dentist again....he only threw a fit 1/2 the time, I think we're making progress!

One morning while getting Cael ready for school I opened his blinds to find it a blizzard out side. Cael looked over my shoulder and said ONO. It took me a minute and then I figured out he ment to say OMG. He really is a 40 year old in a 5 year old body!

This is what you will find on our tv 95% of the time. I will admit I use it to my advantage- 20 minutes of her being glued to the tv! Of coarse I use it! You will also find Phineus and Ferb too, but only when Cael changes the channel while Kensie isn't looking.

wrestling...

On Feb 16 Cael and Gavyn started wrestling for the first time (so did Wyatt & Casey). It took them a couple of practices before they would even go out on the mat, but after a while they warmed up to the idea and now Cael is obsessed. We had to go buy him the shoe's and shorts so he would "look like the other kids" and he asks repetitively "when is it wrestling?". Gavyn warmed up after I took him for a walk and promised to buy him anything he wanted if he would just go on the mat and try it. He agreed and said " I wike dragons..... pink ones." I now am on the look for one to keep up my end of the bargain. Cael's favorite moves are the bulldozer (push-over), duck walk (walking on your knees), and of coarse the take down, which he has gotten really good at. We were only going to put him in 1-2 tournaments but ended up not doing any of them due to him not feeling good on the morning of. Over all he had a good time and it gave him something to look forward to. It was the best $20 dollars we've spent in a long time- what else costs $20 for 2 nights a week for 8 weeks and your child comes home exhausted?

Cael insisted on using the rabbit and at first I was ornery with him and told him NO, but after I thought about it for a minute I realize that it didn't matter and let him.

No, she is not picking her nose while we rolled out cookie dough-she was saying "EEEEEZE" and pointing to her mouth. Just wanted to make that clear to everyone who ate our cookies!

Cael's valentines box for school. It started out being Red and Black with hearts, but Casey came home and informed me it looked to "girlie" so he changed it to the Star Wars theme.

What can I say "I love these kids!" Yes, sometimes I want to hide in my closet and pull my hair out, but most days I just can't get enough of them! Our Valentines started on Friday with there being a knock at the door. I just happen to be standing in my underwear ironing my shirt, when Cael ran to open the door. I couldn't stop him fast enough and ran for the laundry room to hide! He yelled for me to come see so I headed into the kitchen to tell him I was getting dressed. Right then I heard a knock at the back door and quickly recognized the silhouette in the window. It turned out to be Casey who had left a bunch of gifts on the porch for us, rang the door bell, and ran. Thank goodness it wasn't my visiting teachers! I didn't get a picture of all the cute things he left on the porch :( {i was too busy trying to get dressed!} He had left me and kensie flowers and Cael 2 star wars figures and a travel connect 4 game! It was so sweet and unexpected. Going back to " leaving the valentines and running" thing. I had never heard of this until I married Casey and his mom would do it to us. I don't know if it's something she just does or if I just missed out on something for 20 years?

On Sunday me and the kids made sugar cookies for our families and then we just relaxed and enjoyed not having to go anywhere.

Nikki & Wyatt had a chance to spend a couple of days in Vegas for a Concrete convention, so our little family of four quickly turned into a family of 7 plus one mini-van. On the morning they left Nikki called to remind me that they had 3 kids meaning 2 kids + 1 dog. I had forgot about little Nala and I hardly knew she was there. She spent most of her days laying on her favorite sheet in my kitchen. When Nikki dropped them off I opened the back door so that Nala could meet her 3 (lab)cousins. As Nala ran out to make friends, our giant dogs greeted her with loud barks and teeth. She was back inside with-in a matter of seconds!
As for having Two sets of twins, it turned out to be pretty easy! I don't know if I would want to do it for 18 years but all the kids cooperated and helped out which made every thing a little easier.

This is the boys working out before going to wrestling practice. I made arrangements with my mom to take the girls so me and Casey could take the boys to their first practice. I hurried and fed the kids, dropped the girls off, and we headed up to the school. That's when we realized that we didn't know where to go. So we started at the Jr high gym which was having a basketball game. As we headed back to the car we noticed cars down at the old middle school. We thought maybe that's where they have it. During all this walking the boys are whining and Gavyn kept loosing his shoe. When we finally made it to that gym all we found was the boys baseball team practicing. Well the only place left is the high school, so we made it back to the car pulled around to the high school and was just getting ready to get out when we saw Kalee standing inside. We called her instead of making the boys get out and walk again. She said all that was going on was the high school basketball game. We couldn't figure where else they could be so we finally called the people who were over it. They informed us that it was at the high school wrestling room.....in two weeks. Go figure. A whole night wasted because we forgot to get the details!

The best part of having a family of 7 is being able to drive the sports wagon. I loved that Van! It's more like a living room on wheels with a TV and all! I even shed a little tear when they came to pick it up. Maybe some day I'll have a lot of money and can afford one (Cael once told my mom that she didn't have as much money as Nikki, because Nikki drove a van! it's been an inside joke ever since!)
