It's amazing how much these boys have improved in just one year of accelerated baseball!  Cael loves his team and enjoys playing baseball as much as possible.  Tonight was their last game of the fall season and unfortunately I wasn't feeling up to going.  We have been so proud of Cael and the improvements he has this year.  Go Warriors!

The kids were excited to go meet their teacher.  Cael had requested Mrs. Hanson and was excited that Wes was going to be in his class.

Kensie was excited and nervous for school to start.  When we went to her class room for the first time she immediately got nervous and wouldn't talk to anyone.  Mrs. Painter was so sweet and tried to make Kensie feel comfortable.  A friend of mine that I actually went to preschool with has a daughter named Liz in the class and actually sits right next to Kensie.  I was relieved to know that Kensie would have a sweet girl sitting next to her.  Unfortunately Kensie was in the middle of a anxiety attack and refuse to look or talk to Liz.  I was a little embarrassed and tried explaining to Ally that Kensie was super shy...Like her dad!  I hope Kensie adjusts to Kindergarten and gets use to not having Halle in her class.  I know she relies on Halle's friendship alot and doesn't really try to make friends of her own.  Here's to a good year!

Juab County Fair 2013

We always look forward to fair week and all the fun events they have planned.  Luckily their aunt Nikki works on projects with them all summer and makes sure they have things to enter.  Kensie loves working on her projects and usually gets more blue ribbons than anybody.  This makes her brother mad, but Nikki claims Kensie spends the most time and it pays off.

Clinn Athos Morgan born September 15, 1917 in Levan, Utah to John A and Elsie Marie Paystrup Morgan died July 20, 2013 in Nephi, Utah. Clinn married Edra Goble on October 1, 1941 in the Manti LDS Temple. She died on May 15, 1982. He married Rhea Black Smith on November 12, 1982. He loved all sports especially baseball and BYU basketball. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he held many positions. He was an ordinance worker in the Manti LDS Temple for 7 years. He served as a county commissioner, on the school board and on the hospital board. He had many occupations throughout his life from working at Thermoid and on the railroad to being a farmer and milk truck driver. He is survived by his wife Rhea. Children: Pauline (Leon) Broadhead, Alamo, Nevada; Mary Thomas, Ely, Nevada; John (Marrianne) Morgan, Richfield, Utah; Patricia (Steve) Ingram, Claudia (Raymond) Whiting and Joan (Randy) Greenhalgh all of Nephi. 27 Grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren. Stepchildren: Tammy (Brett) Lynn, Mona; Claudia Stilson, Mike (Linette) Smith, Gary (Linda) Smith, Wayne (Coralee) Smith, and Judy (John) Adair all of Nephi. 19 Step grandchildren, 20 Step great grandchildren. Preceded in death by first wife Edra Goble Morgan, two step brothers, three brothers, his parents, son-in-law Dennis Thomas, grandson Steven Thomas, great grandson Austin Carson, step son-in-law Fred Stilson, step grandsons Dustin Stilson and Wesdan Sperry, and step great grandson Cade Smith. There will be a viewing at the Anderson Funeral Home (94 West 300 North, Nephi) Wednesday July 24, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday July 25, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Nephi North LDS Stake Center (1125 N 400 E) with a viewing from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Levan Cemetery. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Red Cliffs Assisted Living Center and Central Valley Home Health and Hospice for their kindness and great care.

 

Today we said goodbye to a great man.  Grandpa Morgan married Grandma Rhea when Casey was only 2 years old.  He was so good to Casey and always treated him as his own.  Casey has many memories of Hunting, fishing, and talking baseball with him.  He was also the one to ordain Casey an elder and was there the day we were sealed in the Manti Temple as a family.  My kids loved him and would always hug him the minute they saw him.  He never missed a birthday party of theirs and always supported them.  I loved his quick wit and ability to make people laugh.  His health had dramatically declined the last six months to the point we knew his time was short.  I debated on taking my kids over to see him because I didn't want to upset them, but both kids insisted on going to see him.  Kensie was a little nervous seeing him so sick, but Cael went right over to the bed and sat by Grandma Morgan.  Grandma Morgan let Cael hold his hand and it was so sweet to see how gentle Cael was with him.  That night they called to see if Casey would come help give him a blessing with his cousin Jason Stilson and Chris.  When he got home he said it wouldn't be long and so we weren't surprised when they called the next day to tell us he had passed.  He was a great example and we are going to miss him!

Day of the American Cowboy

This year my dad was chosen by the county commissioners to represent Juab County at the Day of the American Cowboy.  Him and my Mom spent the day in Ogden with the other representatives from each county in the state and then that night was introduced during the Pioneer Day Rodeo.  We went up to the Rodeo along with Chad & Jessica, Wayne & Connie, Rodger & Georgia and Paul.  They did a quick Bio on all the cowboys being honored and then presented them with a really nice plaque.  It was a great Rodeo with many NFR cowboys competing.

Swimmimg lessons 2013

We officially have fish at the Smith house!  Both kids always look forward to Swimming lessons every year and love the water.  For some reason (I blame his overly paranoid dad) Cael started to be scared of the water.  Last year he did really well and was able to pass "Minnow" and advance to the "Trout" class.  This year his class was in the 10 ft and it made him so nervous.  If he could not touch the wall he would have a major panic attack.  As the two weeks went on he got a little better but still struggled swimming across and not reaching for the wall.  I'm hoping by next year he will feel more comfortable swimming in the deep end and become a better swimmer. 

Kensie loves too swim and loved her teacher Miss Camie.  She didn't pass this year because she wouldn't hold her breath long enough, which I find funny because she passed this exact class last year but was too little to advance.  Hopefully next year both her and Cael can pass.
