Flag Football 2012...

For the past couple of years Cael has played soccer in the fall and enjoyed it until last year when he hated every minute, so this year we did flag football instead and he loved it.  His coach was Mike Tolley and their team was the Saints.  They had a lot of fun and made some good plays each game.  Cael and Gavyn both improved every game and were fun to watch.  There were a couple of nights that they played in the pouring rain and by the last game the weather had turned off chilly.  Cael loves sports and I'm glad he is able to get to know the kids from the other school through city league.

2nd grade field trip 2012

Cael had been excited about his field trip, but was ecstatic when Casey got pick to be a chaperon.  So Casey strapped on the fanny pack (wait that use to be my dad) and headed with the second grade to the Sanpete fish hatchery.  He even took pictures which impressed many of the mom chaperons.  They have been learning about rocks in class so on the way home they stopped and did some "rock hunting" before heading out to Nephi Sandstone to learn about the different rocks in this area.  Casey said they had a great time and enjoyed getting to know the kids in Cael's class.  Carter Mcpherson kept him laughing by letting him know who everyone's girlfriend was and then was very courteous while getting off the bus and let "ladies first".

Harry Potter Party...

With Halloween in the air we decided it was time for a Harry Potter Marathon.  The Blackett Boys joined us and Cooper was the only one left standing at the end of the first movie...it was close to midnight.  We made homemade pizza's which the kids loved.

 

PumpKin Patch 2012...

Today we spent some time at the Pay's Pumpkin patch for the girls fieldtrip.  Kensie asked all morning if it was time to go and finally 11:00 rolled around.  The weather was perfect and the kids had fun picking out the perfect pumpkin and then going down the slide.  Welcome Fall!

Last night of Fall Ball...

Tonight was our last night of fall ball for the season.  I have been amazed at how much they have improved over the seven weeks.  Cael started out really strong with pitching but had been struggling the last few games.  I had noticed last week that he was doing his windup really slowly and was almost stalling before he let go of the ball.  We had worked on it all week and he started to improve again.  All I could think tonight was that I wanted him to just end with a good game.  His first couple pitches he struggled and then Casey went out and reminded him he needed to do his windup faster.  The next couple of pitches were great and he ended up striking out two kids.  It was a great way to end the season and I can't wait for spring.

Farm Kids...

They started chopping corn at the farm this week so I took the kids down so they could ride with the guys.  This was always my favorite time at the farm and I wanted my kids to experience the fun.  We would spend hours playing in the silage and riding in the truck with my grandpa and uncles.  I remember taking my shoes off and having them full of corn from jumping off the sides of the pit and landing in the pile.  They are fun times I will never forget and I'm thankful my Dad lets my kids experience the same.

MIni Cheer 2012...

For the last week Kensie and Halle have been participating in Mini Cheer every afternoon.  They learned cheers and dances to "Ice Cream and Cake" and "Call me Maybe".  Kensie was nervous about cheering at the football game, but ended up going down on the field with a smile.  Her favorite cheer was "GOOOO Juab!"

Instead of watching the games Cael usually form a football team and plays on his own.  Tonight him and Will Harmon were playing flag football with their jackets for flags.  Boys will be Boys!
