Pet Parade 2012...

Today was Red Cliff elementary first Pet Parade.  Cael tried to get Casey to bring the dogs over, but he was nervous they would end up killing someone pet pigeon or something dramatic.  So Cael mentioned it to my Dad and of coarse he agreed to bring Quigley up.  Once again I have to say my kids are so lucky to have such great grandparents.  My dad is the bomb and always makes a fuss over his grandkids.  Thanks Dad!

Jarrett Family Reunion 2012...

A few weeks ago my favorite Aunt KJ (Karen) sent around a quick message on facebook inviting everyone to come camping with her.  Well it soon turned from a few people to pretty much the whole family being able to make it including my Uncle Don from Idaho.  It was a great weekend and I can't wait to do it again.  I love my family so much and have many great memories camping with them during my childhood.  I know it made my grandparents happy to see us continue this tradition and enjoy being with each other.  My kids had a blast playing with their cousins.  Every night my Dad would take all the kids "Big Foot" hunting and would bring them back with big stories to tell.  By the end of the weekend he had kids from the other camps going with him.  He is such a fun Grandpa and always makes sure everyone is having a good time.

Wayne and Connie's milk can dinner.  We took turns cooking for everyone and trust me did not go hungry all weekend.

I had borrowed a projector from a friend so we could watch movies at night but unfortunatley I have horrible luck and couldn't get it to work.  This pop-out movie screen came with it and it was pure comedy watching Casey try to put it back in the sleeve.  Karen soon jumped in to help and by the end we were all laughing watching them two wrestle with it.

Grandpa Reid serving popcorn around the fire.

We did Saturday Morning breakfast and made breakfast burritos.  They turned out yummy!

My Dad and his chef's hat....never a dull moment with him.

The boys loved riding Quigley.  Gavyn was knocked off by a branch on our ride, but cowboyed up and got right back on.

Dancing 2012...

Kensie started her 3rd year of Dance today and insisted on wearing the same Tu-Tu she has managed to wear on the first day of every year.  It's a little short, but I wasn't in the mood to fight with her.  I will just do what every good mom does and will give it away when she isn't looking.

Team Nephi...

At the end of city league Cael was asked by his coach Dr. Rosenbeck to join his fall excelled team.  My cousins, Tyson & Ryan, were also helping on the team as well as Casey. Cael was so excited to play up north and most of all to play with his friends.  They started practicing in the middle of July and had their first game on Aug 20.  Since this is the first year as a team they have been learning lots and most of all getting use to kid pitchers.  Most of the teams they play have been together all year and will advance up to 9u in the spring, but the boys have been working hard and improving every game.  Cael has improved so much since May and Dr. Rosenbeck has even commented that he is the most improved player when you consider where he was at the start of city league in May.  The best thing he's got going for him is he LOVES baseball!  I mean obsessed at times.  He also has a really strong arm and has been rotating in as pitcher and even started a few games.  The good thing about this league is they don't keep score and the main focus is to create a competitive atmosphere so they can learn the game and improve.  At times it is hard to watch them struggle and Cael especially fights his nerves.  Casey can practice with him and help him improve physically, but unfortunately mentally he has to figure out on his own and I know every game he plays he becomes one step closer to feeling more comfortable.  Overall they are doing amazing and i love to cheer them on.
Go Nephi!!!

Gymnastics

The girls have started their first year of gymnastics at Nebo gymnastics in Salem.  I had called at the first of the summer and was put on a waiting list to get them in a class.  At the first of August they called back and said they had room for them.  Nikki took the girls up and had them pick out a new leotard and Kensie had been asking everyday when it would start.  On the first day Kensie acted a little nervous when we got there but I thought she would be ok.  When it was time to have her line up I noticed she still had her flip-flops on so I told her to come take her shoes off and as she was heading back down to get in line she fell off the bleachers and hit her head.  She started crying and refused to leave my side.  I tried everything to get her to go out and participate but she refused.  On the day of her next practiced I was trying to get her excited about going, but she kept telling me she didn't like "nastics" and she wasn't going.  She hadn't even tried it and I felt like I couldn't let her give up that easy so I had a small melt down and threatened to throw away every toy she had in her room if she didn't cooperate and be good at practice.  She finally agreed to not throw a fit and give it try.  I also let her pick out a toy to help her "not be afraid" at practice.  Well it worked like a charm and she went right out and has loved every minute since.  I can already see her improving each week and can't wait to see how far she has progressed at the end of the season.

Lemonade Anyone???

Cooper has been quite the entrepreneur this summer and today he got the whole neighborhood involved.  Cael took the business very serious and at one point was going to knock on doors to try and make a sale.  They mostly got support from the grandparents, but Cael did say a man stopped and bought 2 capri suns.  Which made their day a success.  Cael kept coming home and asking for me to come buy some and I couldn't turn down the cutest kids in the world so I got my share of lemonade.  Kensie was in heaven and enjoyed every minute.  I love these kids and our neighborhood.

Kensie's first day of school 2012....

When Cael started school a couple of weeks ago Kensie was feeling a little left out.  Her day finally came and she was excited to start her last year at Wilde 4 learning preschool.  She is growing up so fast and keeps us laughing all the time.  When Casey went to pick her up he asked how her day was and all she said was "it was freakin hot in there!"  We love you baby girl!
