I have to admit that I wasn't really excited about going to the Zoo. I didn't say anything to Cael about going until he came home from school last Thursday and told me that his teacher needed to know if I was driving up or riding the bus. I didn't have the heart to tell him that I didn't want to go so I signed up to ride the bus and I'm so glad that I did. We had the best time and I enjoyed being able to spend the day with just him. He is growing up so fast and I need to take advantage of these opportunities as much as I can. The bus ride went by really fast and I had a fun visit with all the other mom's. There were also a lot of Dad's that went and it reminded me of the field trips my dad went on with us. He was always the favorite chaperon because of his fanny pack filled with treats. Cael had fun on the bus playing with his friends and didn't complain about the drive. My kids are actually really good in the car. When we got in the park everyone went their separate ways and I asked Cael if he wanted to go find some of his friends. He said No, I want to go see the owls. I was surprised that he didn't care what his friends were doing and was content with just being with me. I wish I could keep him this age forever, I love that he's not too cool to spend time with me. Unfortunately they are doing a lot of construction and the bird exhibit was closed. It will be fun to go in a couple of years and see all the new things that they are adding. Wednesday, May 11, 2011

Mothers Day 2011
I had a great Mothers day this year. We started the day out by going and listening to Kalee talk in church and I even scored an early Mothers Day flower. I didn't stand because I knew I would get a gift from my own ward, but one of the boys saw me covered in kids and handed me one. I then got chocolates from my own ward that my kids loved. Primary was extra busy with making our homemade Mother's day gift. They put together paper boxes that had an "All about my mom" quiz inside. It was so fun asking the kids about their mom and at times puzzling, but we survived. After church we had everyone over for turkey dinner. We kept it simple and it turned out to be a great meal. I love all the Mom's in my life.

Chuck-E-Cheese....
Today we celebrated Gavyn's 6th birthday at Chuck-E-Cheese. The kids (and parents) had a blast playing the games, eating pizza, and hanging out with the big cheese himself-Gavyn! Happy Birthday little man. I'm officially noting that Gavyn's mother forgot her camera. I know this may come as a surprise to people, but the truth is I have spoiled every member of my family by always taking pictures so they never think to bring theirs.

The perfect pet....
Aunt Jessica surprised the kids with these cute balloon animals and they have been apart of the family since. Kensie especially loves her cow and was the envy of the elementary school when she insisted on taking it to Cael graduation practice. They are so cute and when you walk with them they follow behind like they are being lead. They move like a real animal and there have been a few time I've walked in on them and screamed thinking there was something in my house. Thanks Tah Tah we love them.

Another trip for the tooth fairy...
and it was actually a legit tooth loss, not one courtesy of the dentist. One of Cael's caps (shiny teeth as he calls them) has been loose for a couple of weeks now and I was starting to get worried that maybe it was just the cap that was loose not the actually tooth under neath. I was relieved when it fell out and the tooth was attached. He was down at the farm eating some cheese when he felt something hard in his mouth. He carried it in his pocket the rest of the day until we got home from grandma's. He was excited to get his dollar from the tooth fairy and is going to put it with the other money he is saving for his 4-wheeler.
