Dear Santa.....
When I think back to my childhood, one thing stands out....The Wish Book at Christmas. Oh, I would spend hours turning the pages of the precious book. Back and forth, reading everything twice, trying to make that most difficult decision. On year we even lucked out and received TWO in the mail, talk about the best day of my life.... Well a month ago the American Girl catalog showed up in the mailbox. Ever since Kensie has been hooked on catalogs. The American Girl catalog soon became a pile of pieces and found it's way to the garbage. So my mom picked up one from the dollar store which was small and perfect to take on road trips. The Toys R Us big book has also been one of her favorites. Oh, she loves to look at her babies and studies every page with true excitement.

Deer Hunt 2009
We spent our deer hunt in Holden again this year. The weather was perfect and the kids had a good time. On Saturday, me and Kensie went to the Jarrett Ladies Party at Aunt Connie's. It was a great time and the food was fabulous! I'm still craving the quesadillas! We made a cute Frankenstein craft and had a good visit. Kensie spent most of the party sitting on the ground putting dirt in her hair.....she's so girl! lol It's always a blast when the girls get together. After the party me and Kensie headed back to deer camp, but not before getting a good fresh conoco Dr.Pepper! When we got back to camp the crew was already around the fire....deer-less. They had chased a few good one's and Gary even got some good shots, but didn't get to it before it headed back into the mahogany. Kalee had some pretty wicked blisters on her feet to prove it! The only kill of the camp was Casey's cousin Travis who got a pretty good 3 point right off side of the road. Kensie didn't know what to think about the dead deer and kept calling it a cee-cee(horse) with a confused look on her face. The next morning I woke up to no husband, two hungry kids, and no hot water! I went out to try and start the **** water heater while the kids tried to kill each other. Grandma Linda came to the rescue and let the kids go to her trailer while I played with the stupid water heater! We've got to get something different, maybe next year!

Harvest 2009
With the economy the way it is and Casey's non-stop paranoia about the end of the world, we decided to be domestic and Bottle. I'm pretty sure it's my new obsession! Over labor day we harvested our corn and a box a pears. During the week me and Casey did a batch of salsa for 12 pints. So I was totally pumped to learn how to do peaches. My mom, the domestic goddess, came and helped me and Jakoye do 3 boxes of peaches. It was actually really fast with three hands working. Jakoye got 17 quarts out of her box and I got 33 quarts out of my 2 boxes. The next week my neighbor Becky wanted to learn so we did another 2 boxes of peaches and 2 boxes of tomatoes for salsa. All together I ended up with 300 pints of corn bottled and frozen, 50 quarts of peaches, 13 quarts of pears, and close to 50 pints of Salsa. Our family garden was pretty much done for the year except for the pumpkins and potatoes. We ended up with close to 75 pumpkins so we invited the neighbors and friends to come get some. The kids had a blast picking out their own.
The only thing left was a few watermelon and our 250+ potato plants. Kaitlyn and Abbie came down with us and they had a blast riding the tractor(Kaitlyn) and finding potatoes(Abbie). It didn't take long to fill the back of the truck! Hopefully we can keep them good since the pit was full of water when we went to store them. I'm sure papa Reid will figure something out! Over all the Garden was a huge success and I can't wait for next year.
