Good bye Ole-REd!

After being in our family for over 10 years, Big Red moved to California....with his new owner! It was kinda hard for me to see him go. This was the truck we went on our honeymoon in, moved into our house with, brought Cael home from the hospital in, and many more memories over the years. So many things have changed since Casey first bought this truck and when I think about it I wouldn't change a thing....even outgrowing this truck! Oh and FYI if Cael asks....big red now works at disneyland!

How does your garden grow??

Every year we have been going to do a family garden and well It's never happened until this year. It turned out to be so much fun and I can't wait until fall to harvest. We've tried to go down once or twice a week and weed and that has really helped! The kids love to go down and we have ended up taking Kaitlyn and Abbie along with the neighbor kids down to weed and they have all had a blast. They especially loved getting to ride on the Jarrett Express (aka Grandma Vicki pulling a wagon behind the 4-wheeler) The garden consists of around 250 potato plants, tomato, pumpkin, watermelon, onions, zucchini, peppers, and a ton of sweet corn! We should be well stocked by fall.

Beaver Mountain

yeah, we finally went camping! After months of rain, rain, and more rain! It finally cleared up so we could go to Beaver (my favorite place) and spend a weekend! The weather was perfect and it even sprinkled from time to time. The kids were content on just getting dirty! Because of the threat of thunder we were not able to go over and see the mountain goats :(, but there is always next year! At night we made the trip down to see the deer and elk. The deer were awesome and Casey became obsessed! Saturday night we had a group dinner and I was pretty much licking my plate. Sooo yummy! On the way down Nikki and Wyatt had one of Gavyns toys blow out of the back of the truck, and we hoped that would be the disaster of the trip...but we were wrong. On the way home Wyatt and Nikki ended up blowing two tires and because their cell phone was not charged couldn't get a hold of us. We kept trying to call and getting the voice mail. We just assumed that they had stopped to get something to eat. ASSUME ASS of U and ME! We should of just turned around to look for them, but we didn't and they ended up spending a lot of time off the side of the road. I felt really bad, and the blow-out ended up making a mess of the trailer, but everything worked out. What luck?

Ute Stampede 2009

After we bought our box seat we totally could not wait for the rodeo. We must have went down there a million times before the stock even showed up! The kids ended up going all three nights this year and we made the most of it and let them stay at the Carni every night. I thought the rodeo was good watching especially since the Wild Child was back. Cael is still acting like the wild child on his bike! The only down side was that Julio Moreno wasn't there with his stock, so we didn't get to see Troubadour, Charlie Bullware, or Big Mike (luckily I got pics last year!)Since it was the 75Th anniversary they had all the past queens there on Friday and they also honored Ina Morgan for being the only person who has been to every single Friday night rodeo for 75 years! Eric & Jen have came with us to the stampede for 9 years! They are the best friends and we love having that tradition with them! Saturday night there was a lot of excitement during the rodeo especially when Cotton was knocked off his horse and from our angle he looked dead! Luckily he was able to walk out and all was Ok! Also Jerry Shepherd the home town boy won the bull riding. After the rodeo I got to visit with a lot of friends that I only see once a year! Casey bought his traditional fifteen bags of cotton candy, Carmel apples, and a funnel cake! We always eat way too much and end up sick, but hey that rodeo!

4th of July 2009

As always the kids had a blast at the park and didn't want to go home. This first picture is of Casey and all his "duckling". Kalee (Casey's little sister) has always been the one to go on all the rides with the kids, but now she is a teenager and it must not be"cool" anymore. So Casey stepped up and did it. Casey's cousin Carsen was teasing him and asked if he could reach up and hold her kids too. We all got a good laugh! This next picture was taken right before we left for the park. Of course Cael has to throw a fit about getting his picture taken when we should be heading to the park. The fit got so bad that I decided to have a talk with him, well a loud talk, so I took him into the house so the neighbors wouldn't hear me "talking loudly". After are talk I looked up and noticed the window was open. That's my luck, but child service have not showed up yet so Marty must have been inside. After that he agreed to get his picture taken, but this was the outcome. I'm telling ya this kid is going to be the death of me! Kensie just posed like a little model. That night we had some family over for a BBQ. Casey wanted to try Kabobs and he actually started marinating the meat two days before. Everyone loved the food and we all had finished when the storm came. We spent the rest of the night in the garage. Casey & Chris still did light the fireworks (with a blow torch) in between the heavy rain. After our root beer floats we waited for the city firework, which were canceled. Even then we still had a good time and celebrated. We love you America! see more photos at http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=111196&id=1332408589&l=59f8e35c9b

Cael's preschool program

By the looks of this picture, you can probably tell how the program went! I've been so mad over this that I wasn't even going to post this picture. My mother-in-law just laughed and said this was exactly how Casey was in front of people. I still can not laugh, it was sooo embarrassing to see him throw a huge fit in front of everybody including people that I work with. He spent the whole program crying into his shirt and then after when I asked to get his picture with his teacher he threw the BIGGEST fit I have ever seen from him. I cried the whole way home and needless to say he spent the rest of the night in his room. Mrs. Jenni told me she was shocked because he had been so good in class, so I guess it was all the people. Mrs. Farr was such a good teacher and Cael just loved her. He always talked about her girls and was mad at me when we didn't bring "teachers baby" something home from disneyland. I guess I feel bad that this is how a perfect school year had to end. There were a lot of kids that wouldn't even go up on stage, but still I hope this never happens again....soooo embarrassing. I'm just keep hoping that they don't lose his registration for next year . I'll end with this famous quote "I hope you get one just like ya!" He is a sweet heart, just not in front of people.

Mothers Day

We all had a good Mothers day this year. It landed on Gavyn's 4th birthday so we had a Dino mothers day party. Casey spoiled me with a hanging basket which was beautiful. You read "was", the heat got to it and now it resides at the land fill. The food was great and so was the company! I love all my Mom's in my life, especially my own mommy! She's always there for me and my kids, We love her!
Happy Birthday Gav, my life would not be complete without your funny stories!
