College Grad

We spent the morning attending Kalee Snow College graduation.  After just one year she was able to graduate with her Associates and honors.  Congrats Kalee!!

Fire Department Fieldtrip...

The preschool spent the morning on their annual Fire station field trip.  This always makes Kensie nervous and I can't quite figure out why but she refuses to get in or near any of the vehicles.  I did convince her to stand by the fire truck for a picture but that was it.  Nikki had brought Oakley with her and she wanted to try out everything.  She was listening really close when the fire fighter was explaining how the fire truck worked.  He showed the kids where all the hoses attached to the truck and pointed out that the truck could hold a thousand gallons of water.  Oakley turned around with her jaw dropped and yelled "Nikki did you hear that!?!"  Oh my did we laugh it was so cute!  I guess she thought a thousand gallons was crazy.

Hogle Zoo 2013

We had a great day at the Hogle Zoo for Cael's field trip.  I had chaperoned a couple of years ago when Cael's kindergarten class went and I was trying to decide what to do this year.  Chris and Jakoye had decided to take their whole family up since Abbie's kindergarten class was going too.  That made it possible for Casey to come so we too decided to make a day of it and take our family up.  The zoo has done some major renovations and we loved all the new exhibits.  We headed right for the Polar Bears and the kids loved seeing the Sea Lions in the underwater exhibit.  It's not very often that it's just our little family on outings like this and I have to admit that I enjoyed every minute of it.  For the rest of the afternoon we made our way around the Zoo and ate pizza for lunch.  

Cael had some bad luck when a bird poop on his Nephi Baseball hat inside the bird exhibit.  Thank goodness for wet wipes.

The "This is the Place" monument is right across the street from the zoo so we decided to stop on our way home.  The kids weren't too impressed but I thought it was neat and was glad we took the time to stop.

Kindergarten Registration

I registered my baby for Kindergarten today and was so proud of how good she did.  She was nervous but completed all the tests without throwing a fit (unlike her brother ;).  I've known for a while that she would need some speech therapy when she starts school.  She struggles with pronunciation of many words and I'm thankful they have the resources to help get her going on the right track.  I can't believe both my kids will be in School everyday!

Easter Weekend 2013...

Easter at the Sand dunes has been a life long tradition for Casey and my kids (well and me for the last 15 years).  Last year we didn't end up pulling the trailer out because of the weather and my Grandpa's health taking a turn, so we were over due for our sand fix.  The weather was beautiful all weekend and we all had a blast.  Kensie was fighting a little sick bug all weekend and at times just wanted to lay in the trailer and watch tinkerbell, but besides that the weekend was perfect.  We also got to finally sleep in our new trailer.  Yes after 10 years the Golden Falcon went to a new home and we were able to buy Gary and Linda's fifth wheel.  I loved the golden falcon, but I must say the new fifth wheel is heaven.
