Halloween 2012....

Cael now thinks he's too big for a cute costume so it was no surprise he wanted to be a BYU football player.  Kensie had went back and forth from Merida, to a witch, and even was thinking Queen Amidala from Star Wars.  I was really pushing for a Disney princess since we are going in a couple of months.  She finally decided on Merida and when we went to the Disney store to buy it they were all sold out.  We had decided to just order it online when all of a sudden a pillar of light came down on the Pocahontas costume.  We just recently bought the movie and she had been obsessed with watching it.  After she saw that costume there was no going back.  I thought it was cute and we got a lot of compliments on it.  My only worry was that it wasn't going to be very warm, but it turned out to be a nice day and she did just fine.

I'm the room mom this year so me and Kensie headed to the school for the Costume parade and then to Cael's class party.  Casey had made these cute spiders for Kensie to take to her class so I decided to have Cael's class do them also.  Yes I said Casey, he's such a good sport and is always willing to help me in any way.  I joked this was another episode of Casey's Crafting. The Second grade's didn't turn out exactly like Casey's but they had fun making them unique.  I also had a Canyon's Grandma Debbie come and read a book, Patty Luker brought the game "Don't eat Frank", and Donni Pay helped the kids make ghost suckers out of tissues and had a fun treat bag for them.  Cael  was disappointed that I didn't dress-up like the other mom's.  The party went great and I was glad to have my first one under my belt.

After school we decorated Sugar cookies to take to everyone.  Casey got off a little early so we could try and get done a little early.  We headed to Levan first to see Grandma Worwood and then headed to Mona to Trick or Treat with the Newton's.  I'm not a fan of Trunk or Treats and feel it's not about the candy, but rather a reason to visit family and friends.  So we didn't do the ward Trunk or Treat and instead tried to hit every house we could.

The kids and Wyatt with Grandma Ardath who is suffering from Lou Gehrig's disease.  Nikki always comments on how much Kensie love Grandma Ardath and how she always hugs her.  Kensie doesn't feel comfortable around a lot of people and it goes to show how much she love Grandma Ardath.

We always have to hit Aunt KJ's.

Donna Street always goes out and has her porch so spooky.

We ended the night at the Grandparents.  Linda always has soup and breadstick for us which is a great way to end the night before heading home to bed.

Happy Halloween!

Nephi City Halloween town....

We love Halloween Town!! It reminds me of trick or treating as a kid and I'm glad my kids can experience the tradition of walking door to door.  It's so fun to see the whole town out in costume lining main street.  This year a headless horseman showed up and was so cool to see in person.  He actually startled me at first and seemed to appear out of nowhere.

Pumpkin Carving 2012...

We had been so busy the last couple of weeks and just hadn't found the time to get the pumpkin carved.  After getting home form gymnastic on Monday we got right to work and it didn't take long for the ghouls to take shape.  Casey was of coarse in charge of the knife and did a great job carving out the kids creations.

Kensie insisted on buying this owl kit at Hobby Lobby and I think it turned out cute.

Autumn Boutique performance 2012

Every year Lisa teaches the girls a Halloween dance to perform at the fall craft show.  This year Kensie performed to "If you believe in magic" and was suppose to dress like a magician, but you can tell how well that worked out.  She still look so cute up there ;)
