Princess Camp 2013....

It was finally time for Kensie to attend her summer camp...princess camp that is!  She LOVES princess camp, but I love it even more because I get to have lunch with this gorgeous girl for three  days in a row!  This is the second year Jen and Maddie have joined us and I'm so glad they did!  Queen Lisa really goes all out and makes the girls feel like a true princess.  They have tea parties, make crowns, and most importantly learn how to dance like a princess!

Golf Camp 2013....

Besides our one round of miniature golf, Cael has never golfed unlike Gavyn who has been several times and even has his own clubs.  I had heard that the golf coarse was putting on this camp so we decided to sign the boys up.  Cael loved it and asked if we could get some of those "sticks" so he could play again.  On the last day they let the boys play a round of golf and Cael said he tied for third out of his age group.  Not too bad for a boy who didn't even know what a golf club was called ;)

Softball 2013...

It's no secret that Kensie hates baseball games.  With her brother being obsessed with baseball it seems like all we do is either watch him play or watch it on TV.  She always begs to stay home from them and has even learned how to convince Nikki or her grandma  into letting her stay with them while we go to the games.  So when T-ball sign-ups came around I questioned whether she would even want to play, but I signed her up anyway.  We went and bought her a new pink glove and a pink bat to get her excited to start.  It turns out that she loves playing herself and always looked forward to her next game.  It was also a good time for her to spend with her dad.  He is so good to help with Cael's sports and he made no exception for her.  He would spend time practicing with her home and help with the team at games.  She was on the Pink Blitz team and was coached by my good friend Jenna.  All the girls were pretty excited that they lucked out and got the pink shirts and Kensie even got number 3 which has been Cael's number for the past couple of years.  By the end of the season she could hit off the Tee really well and even her coached commented on how good she kept her eye on the ball and rarely hit the tee.

I took this of Casey warming the girls up before the game.  It started out with just him and Kensie and pretty soon the whole team joined in.  My kids have the best dad ever!

Football Camp 2013

Cael went to his first football camp this week and loved every minute.  The kid loves sports and football is no exception.  They split the boys up and created 4 teams for each age.  Cael was pretty excited because he was drafted first for one of the teams.  On the last day they held a tournament and let all the teams play each other.  Cael had asked if he could take his baseball glove to the tournament so he could catch better.  I was so confused and when I explained to him that he couldn't take a baseball mitt to a football game he said " Mom not my mitt my batting gloves!"  I was glad we got that cleared up... I was starting to worry about him.

Gavyn's Baptism

Today was Gavyn's big day and he was baptized a member of the church.  We are so proud of him and his decision .  He asked me to talk on the Holy Ghost and I was happy to do it.  His cousin Tyler is preparing to go on a mission and performed the baptism and my dad did the confirmation.

I can't believe how old these boys are getting!  They are the best of friends!

Last day of School 2013...

 Wow this year has flown by!!  Cael has loved Mrs. Stevens class and done so well.

We took the kids and a few friends up to Trafalga to celebrate the year end.  We had hoped to do the batting cages and go-karts but unfortunately it was the one day all year that the batting cages were closed for maintenance and they were about 5 inches too short to drive the go-karts.  They settled for miniature golf and arcade games and had a great time.

We finished the afternoon off with Dippin Dots before heading home.  Welcome Summer!

Year End Awards Assembly 2013...

 Cael has had a great school year and tested above average all year.  He is a great student and was recognized for his achievement in reading which ironically is his least favorite subject.  Math is his strongest subject and he usually gets 100% on all his test.  They also gave awards for the kids who tested in the top of the class.  I was a little surprised Cael didn't make the cut since his scores had been high but then that afternoon when he got home from school he pulled out an award for Academics out of his backpack.  He said his teacher gave it to him when they got back to class because the principle only wanted them to hand out so many at the Assembly.  I don't know if that's true but it sounded good to me.  Keep up the good work Buddy!
