the reason ......

.....i've not posted in awhile. My baby has become an expert on messes! My whole life i've not been a night person. I would so much rather go to bed early-get up early. This use to be possible, but since kids my clock has changed. I can not get anything done during the day. I feel like all i do is clean, clean, pick-up, clean! So I have decided to change my routine! I am now going to do my major cleaning at night after my kids are asleep. You heard it, NIGHT! I am so sick of my deep cleaning taking me all day on friday and saturday to complete. I finally figured out the problem- interupptions! So on friday night Casey and Cael had went to a scout campout and I had just put kensie to bed and decided to clean. I kept finding my self watching tv, but then I got in the groove and it was 1:00 am before I new it! It was such a good feeling to wake up on Saturday Morning and have all my house work done- even my laudry. This gave me more time to play with my kids and during Kensie's nap i got to play on the computer and work on my enrichment night stuff. I hope I can keep it up at least until this little mess maker has grown out of this busy stage! But isn't she sooo cute after she eats!

is this kinda joke?

Cael has been saying the funniest things lately. For the past few weeks every time I ask him something he answers "is this kinda joke?" It often leads to us going back and forth and me trying to explain that it isn't a joke! i have no idea where he picked it up but he loves to say it. last night me and Casey were putting clothes away and verbally blaiming the other for putting it off all weekend. as we were loudly complaining Cael yelled "don't fight, we're a family!" it's funny how a 4-year-old can quickly put you in your place. he is loving primary, even though he will not admit it. i've heard that he will not sing during singing time, but yet he knows all the songs and sings them at home and in the car. Nikki took him and Gav for a walk and told them to hold hands and "follow the leader, follow the leader", Cael was quick to correct her and started sing "follow the prophet, follow the prophet". He also loves "book of mormon stories" and usually sings it in the car. Nikki just got a new van (sportswagon) and she was bring the kids to Nephi and told Cael that they were going to wash her car. Cael reminded her that "this isn't a car, it's a van!" He was being a good big brother and playing with Kensie and her doll house. I looked down and he had the mom and brother sharing a bed, so i asked why is the brother sharing a bed with the mom and he answered "because the dad works too much!" Casey is rarely gone at night, but when he is I usually let Cael sleep with me and try to make dad being gone fun, but i guess he's thinking he's Casey's replacement. On february 12 we took the kids to see the draper temple and Cael loved it and was such a good boy. (kensie was another story and decided she was hungry when we got to the celestial room. she was screaming so loud I had to take her out in the hall, she calmed down for a minute until when went into the sealing room to sit down for a presentation, she flipped again so I headed to the hall again to try and calm her down. When I got in the hall i notice Cael had followed me out. I went to tell Casey that I was going outside, but before I got to they shut the door. Me and the Kids heading outside to the church nearby where they were serving refreshments and after a few minutes Casey got there and said the presentation was really cool, i feel bad i missed it mostly because I've been a parent for 4 years and should of been more prepared with snacks.)

Kensie is growing like crazy, but still not talking much. Casey claims she did say daddy yesterday, but there were no witnesses. In church she loves helping sister wilcox lead the music and Cael thinks it funny she tries to sing with everyone. She has reached the climbing stage and if you turn your back she it on top of something! her favorite place is on the island when everyone is trying to eat. When she is done eating she throws everything she doesn't want on the floor, which makes cleaning fun! She is starting to play with her toys and books more. She loves to cuddle up in her rocking chair and be read a book. her babies are getting more attention and mabey she won't be a tom-boy and want to play with cars and tractors all the time.

Cael's 4th birthday

On January 11 my baby turned 4 years old! i'm still in denial! This was also his first day of primary. We had missed the week before and I didn't even realize that it would land on his birthday. The primary presidency told me that they tried to get him to come up so they could sing to him but he refused! I don't blame him, i would have felt the same way. Lately Cael has become obsessed with batman and of course wanted a batman party. Nikki made him the cutest batman cake and the frosting was so black that everyone's teeth turned black. It was so funny to see Grandma and Grandpa Morgan with black teeth! He got tons of batman stuff including the batman legos that he had begged for. (the legos had been discontinued and I had to buy them off ebay at collector price, but it was all worth it to see his face and he even started trembleing when he saw them. so fun!) for dinner we served Roast beef, mashed potatoes, corn, rolls, jello....you know, all the goods! he of course threw a fit because he couldn't open his presents until after dinner so you can tell by his picture it was all he could do to smile.

Loves fruit snacks and bananas. the first thing she does in the morning is heads to the kitchen and screams for a nan-na!

insists on feeding herself and makes a huge mess, i have now started feeding her in her diaper to try and save her clothes.

loves to have her coat on. She crys when I take them off and if she finds one in the house she drags it to me and trys to put her arm through it. Cael on the other hand has to be held down to get his coat on!

Will not sit still which makes church real interesting! I feel bad for the people that sit around us.

rock in the new year

The invention of Rockband has spiced up our new years for the last two year. We use to watch a movie and anyone who knows me, knows I can't stay awake during a movie. We have spent the last 8 New Years with our BFF's Eric and Jen (except the year they were building their house). Before children we would spend the night up north driving around looking for something to do, but the past four years we have just stayed home and relaxed. Member's of our band Lead singer Eric -highest score and Nikki (most energetic, ha ha) Drums- Me- highest score and Casey - well he didn't get a comment, Guitar- Jennalou-highest score and highest level (even being 9 months pregnant) Wyatt- not far behind jen and made a good showing. If anyone is interest in challenging our band we will need some notice since this was the first time we played together and haven't practiced since!

i'm only a month behind!

Oh,where has the month gone? Lots and lots has happened and I've not had five seconds to post anything. Lets start at the firs of the month. On december 7 we had the Jarrett christmas party. My grandpa had his hip replaced on Nov 25 and was not feeling good enough to leave the hospital, so the hospital was kind enough to let us have our party in the conference room so that he could come. He was so excited about being able to go and was something that he needed. He's home now and is improving every day.

Bonnie's family did a great job at planning and we all had a lot of fun. On Dec 14 we had the smith Christmas party at Grandma Morgan's where all the kids exchanged gifts and we ate yummy food.

The adults played a gift exchange game and kids had fun playing with their new toys.

Christmas eve we started out at my mom and dad's where we ate and opened our christmas eve gifts. After we headed to Chris and Jakoyes for more food.

Both the kids fell a sleep at 7:00 that night and Cael was up early. Me and Casey have started the tradition of getting up before the kids and exchanging. I'm really starting to like it because it gives us the chance to spend time together and be able to play with our toys before the kids get up and it's all about them. Santa spoiled me this year and brought me a Canon Rebel! I was so excited and took almost 250 pictures with it on Christmas day alone!

Thanks Santa! Casey got a new gun and Rockband.

I think this year has been the funnest yet with Cael. He knew exactly what was going on and really had a good reaction to the presents Santa had left. He got up about an hour before Kensie so he had time to play with his toys that Santa had brought before we opened the other presents. By the time Kensie woke up Cael was ready to open his other presents. Kensie came right in and started playing with her toys. She went over to Cael's bike and pointed with a smile.

Santa brought Kensie a kitchen and Cael a new Motorcycle bike which he rode immediatly and said "this is just what I wanted!" They got tons of other toys and clothes. After we opened our christmas we went to Grandma Linda's for breakfast and then to grandma Vicki's to exchange gifts with them. Our Christmas was perfect and i'm sad that its over!
